Crushing, screening and moving rock throws up large volumes of dust. It damages lungs, wears out machinery, coats everything nearby and draws complaints from neighbours and regulators.
Where dust comes from
- Primary and secondary crushers
- Vibrating screens
- Conveyor transfer points and discharge chutes
- Loading and unloading of trucks and bins
- Grinding and bagging in processing plants
How we control it
Each source is enclosed as far as practical and connected to an extraction system sized for it. The dust-laden air is cleaned before discharge, and the collected material can often go back into the process instead of being wasted.
What we provide
- Pulse jet bag filters and dust collectors
- Cyclone separators for heavier particles
- Wet scrubbers where the dust is sticky or the process is damp
- Hoods, enclosures, ducting and fans built for abrasive dust
- Ventilation and cooling for motor control centres, control rooms and enclosed plant areas
- Maintenance support, because dust systems only work if filters and fans are looked after
We design for the reality of these sites: heavy dust loads, harsh conditions and equipment that has to be easy to service.
