A third-party inspection agency (TPIA) checks equipment independently of both the buyer and the manufacturer. Its job is simple: confirm that what is being delivered actually meets the specification it was bought against.
Bluair carries out third-party inspection and performance testing of HVAC and air pollution control equipment, usually at the manufacturer's works before dispatch.
Why buyers use a TPI
- Quality: equipment is checked against the tender specification and BOQ, not just the manufacturer's catalogue
- Compliance: we verify that the agreed standards and procedures were followed during manufacture
- Objectivity: the findings come from someone with no stake in the sale
- Fewer site surprises: problems are caught at the factory, where they are cheaper and quicker to fix
Equipment we inspect
- Air handling units
- Dehumidifiers
- Air washers (single, two and three stage)
- Wet and dry scrubbers
- Ventilation fans: axial, centrifugal, ID and FD fans
- Pollution control equipment such as dust collectors and cyclone separators
Tests we carry out
- Air performance
- Static pressure
- Air leakage
- Static and dynamic wheel balancing
- Sound levels
- Vibration
- Cooling coil leakage (DX and chilled water)
- Calibration of the testing instruments used
What you receive
A clear inspection report with measured values set against the specified figures. Where equipment falls short, the report says so plainly, so the manufacturer can correct, re-rate or replace it before it reaches your site.
