Inspection Agency

Inspection Agency

A third-party inspection agency (TPIA or TPI) is an independent and impartial organization that conducts inspections to verify compliance with industry standards, regulations, and best practices.

1. They offer an objective assessment of a company's operations, products, or services.
2. These inspections are conducted by external agencies that evaluate and verify compliance with industry standards, regulations, and best practices.

Why use a Third-Party Inspection Agency?
1. Ensuring Quality: TPIs help ensure that products and services meet the required quality standards and specifications.
2. Compliance: They verify that manufacturers or suppliers follow all the processes that meet the standards and specification requirements.
3. Objectivity: TPIs provide an independent and objective assessment, which can help to reduce bias and ensure fair evaluations.
4. Enhance Reputation: Demonstrating a commitment to quality, safety, and compliance through TPI can enhance a company's reputation.

BluAir has developed and published a series of test procedures in rating HVAC systems and components. BluAir professionals visit manufacturing facilities for independent testing of HVAC products that perform specified test procedures under strict operating conditions to evaluate performance.

BluAir has developed certification programs and a third-party testing module for different ranges of HVAC systems and components, including:
1. Air-Handling Units
2. Dehumidifiers
3. Air Washers (Single Stage/Two Stage/Three Stage)
4. Scrubbers (Wet/Dry Scrubbers)
5. Ventilation Fans (Axial Fans, Centrifugal Fans, ID/FD Fans)
6. Pollution Control Equipment (Dust Collector/Cyclonic Separators)

BluAir selects products for certification testing at random from the manufacturer. If the product fails to meet the manufacturer’s published performance rating during extensive testing, the manufacturer must re-rate the product, modify it, or cease production.

Any manufacturer can state its product meets the requirements of a particular standard or rating. However, for certification, the product must undergo independent testing according to the published testing procedure. Certification provides managers with confidence that the published performance figures for that product are accurate, realistic, and verified.

BluAir, as the testing agency, certifies the product performance to meet an established standard. The agency applies the certification trademark only when the product has successfully demonstrated it meets the manufacturer’s performance claims as per the Tender Specifications/BOQ.

Testing Procedures and Standards:
1. Air Performance
2. Static Pressure
3. Air Leakage Testing
4. Wheel Balancing: Static/Dynamic
5. Calibration of Testing Equipment
6. Sound Testing
7. Vibration Testing
8. Cooling Coil Leakage Testing (DX/CHW)
